I) PERMANENT IMMIGRATION PROCEEDINGS FOR MERCOSUR NATIONALS (MEMBER STATES AND ASSOCIATED STATES) AND FOREIGNERS WHO ARE RELATIVES OF URUGUAYAN NATIONALS.

IMMIGRATION PROCEEDING FOR NATIONALS FROM:
ARGENTINA, BRAZIL, PARAGUAY, CHILE, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR, GUYANA, PERÚ AND SURINAM.

The proceeding shall be conducted with the National Bureau of Migration.

Required documentation:

For the purposes of these proceedings, the following documentation shall be required:

a) Identity Document (National Identification Document, Identity Card or Passport).

b)  Certificate of Criminal Background Check issued by your country of birth and countries of residence during the last 5 years (more than one certificate may be needed, depending on your case); requirement applicable only to people aged 18 or older.
Such certificates are usually valid for 6 months as from issuance, unless other validity period is indicated. — The Certificate of Criminal Background Check must be apostilled or legalized (depending on the country of issue), except for online certificates of criminal background check bearing an electronic signature and a verification code.

c) Apostilled or Legalized Birth Certificate. It must have been issued not more than one year before application.

d) Apostilled or Legalized Marriage Certificate (if applicable).

e) Uruguayan vaccination certificate: to obtain such certificate, you must be up to date with vaccines in your country; the certificate should indicate the date on which vaccines were received (measles and tetanus vaccine for people born after 1967 and tetanus vaccine only for people born before 1967). If you do not have such certificate you shall be vaccinated in Uruguay.

f) Occupational Health Card: not required for the moment for this proceeding.

g) Identity Card photograph.

  • prosecuting the obtainment of the permanent legal residence;
